Bombur from the Escape from Goblin Town bot set  -  Posted: September 28th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
This guy is actually quite short despite his girth. That comes through in the miniature as well, which is actually quite
short compared to the others.
Ori from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: September 28th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Ori's got character, and the sculpter of this figure certainly captured that! The whole pose and the face do great justice
to the movie character! Kudos!
Oin from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: September 28th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Oin, one of the more characterful dwarves with his earpiece. Although this figure is very cool, it's hard to
see that somewhat timid character that we see in the movie in this miniature. This guys looks much more assertive.
I guess you do what you have to do to survive though, and Oin is definitely a survivor.
Dwarves and Gandalf battling goblins  -  Posted: September 28th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Only four more members of the company left to paint! In the meantime these dwarves plus Gandalf are hard put
to keep the press of goblins at bay!
Balin from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: August 4th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Balin, Son of Fundin, Lord of Moria... well, not quite the lord of Moria yet :) But a great start down the path
to that terrible but valiant end! I am sure I'll use him in some Moria games as well as Hobbit games in the future.
Over all, fun to paint, and nice that the GW guys didn't bother to paint the cuffs all that well, which gave
me the opportunity opportunity to do something novel. Note to self though, more blending on the flesh!
Dwalin from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: August 4th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Dwalin had a lot of lines in the movies too, and a characterful character he is. I tried to get the tattoos
on his head, but it was challenging. Over all, pretty happy with it. The beart could have had better highlighting,
but all in all it worked out.
Nori from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: August 4th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Nori was a lot of fun to do. Not too much in the way of lines in the movie, but the hair was enough to make him
a memorable character. I enjoyed painting the criss-crossing lines on the coat as well.
Bifur from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: Jul 9th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
I tried to add some extra detail to these guys, beyond what I usually do. I was inspired by the
GW figs actually. If you haven't checked out their painted dwarves from this set, you should. It's
much better than the painted plastic figs that they did for the Fellowship.
Bifur from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: Jul 9th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
So it turns out that Bifur here has an axe head embedded in his skull... after wondering what that thing
was on his forehead, thinking it was some hair decoration, I found out exactly the deal... bizarre really that
Peter Jackson would put an axe in his head... tough to paint too.

The party so far... Battling the goblins in the Misty Mountains!
Gloin from the Escape from Goblin town box set  -  Posted: Jul 1st, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
I had my eyes on this dwarf from the beginning, paying close attention on how closely Jackson would
handle the fact that he's Gimli's father. I think Jackson did a great job convincing me of the lineage,
and so did GW for that matter.
Gimli from te Mines of Moria box set  -  Posted: Jul 1st, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
I feel like these figs from the Mines of Moria set were not quite as well done as the ones from the
Escape from Goblin town set. But they paint up really well in any case and I'm pretty happy with this one.
It was fun to paint though. Dwarves are pretty cool!
Father and son, Gimli and Gloin together  -  Posted: Jul 1st, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Father and son... I should find out exactly what happened to Gloin by the time the fellowship forms...
Overall they are a pretty good match, both by Jackson and Tolkien I think.

Gandalf the Gray, Mithrandir from the 'Escape from Goblin Town' box set. A pretty nice fig. I always find
eyes to be tough... I do like this fig thanks to the fact that it's not holding a weapon... it's nice not to
always have figs with weapons out.
Gandalf the Gray  -  Posted: Jun 24th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
A close up of the Hobbit Gandalf fig. I'm quite happy with it, but I should have taken time to
blend the hat a little better...
Gandalf the Gray  -  Posted: Jun 24th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Gandalf the Gray from the Mines of Moria box set. I thought I might as well paint this one up at the
same time as I painted up the goblintown Gandalf since it's exactly the same colour palette ;) I think that
I like this one slightly better than the other... but the other is nice since it's not holding a sword at
the ready, which is nice once in a while!
All three Gandalfs  -  Posted: Jun 24th, 2013  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
All three of my Gandalf the Gray miniatures together! The painting on the two latest is much better
than the center one... but I kinda like the middle sculpt slightly better. Over all, they're all pretty
good though, looking forward to running three Middle-earth games at the same time so that I can field them
all at once!
Gandalf the White  -  Posted: February 15, 2006  -  Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Similar to my Saruman fig, at the time I painted
this I didn't want to be bothered to figure out how
to paint white properly... So I wonder why I even
bothered painting it... Well, at least this mediocre sculpt
matches the mediocre paint job ,)

Now you see me... now you don't. Please go easy on that Frodo,
it was painted early in my LOTR collecting days
