This was quite the model. Very large for 28mm scale kits, and insanely large for 15mm stuff, which it
was intended for. I tried to make the paint scheme simply to show off the model, but nice enough to be unique.
The kits has a lot of options as well. Here is is landed with the landing gear down and the loading hatch open.

Another landed image, this one from behind. It like the design of this ship, pretty generic but distinct as well.
It was pretty easy to paint, but a lot of layers of watery paint went into it!

Another front view of the ship, this one on the flying base. The flying base is extremely sturdy,
with the pole being made from a 10mm wide metal post that fits into large resin platforms. The ship is
lovingly called the bulldog by many of its users because of the shape of the front. I figured I would
paint one there, guessing that some pirates took to the name!

A side view of the ship with a 15mm figure in there for scale. The ship comes with two different wing
tip options, the ones you see here and some cannons. I really like these ones, as it implies that there could
be some weapons under the dome cover of the tips... Also, it completes the curvey shape.

The ship can be on the base with or without this storage container. It's a big container, and it
will certainly be useful as an objective type deal... the coolest part being that the ship can come and pick
it up! Neat stuff for sure.

L-HAC Mech  -  Posted: March 8, 2010  -  Manufacturer: Khurasan Miniatures
This is the latest from the Terran Corporate Marine Corp out of Khurasan Miniatures. This is a giant
mech type deal and is for their 15mm sci-fi range. It's quite the piece, excellently put together and designed
and it was a pleasure to build. Not only that, but it's pretty scale-independant, and could easily server as
a 28mm walker type mech as well. I tried to paint it up as 'Tommy' from the Khurasan miniatures
blog post about this mech,
and I'm pretty happy with it! Notice the Timberwolf badge on the mech's right arm, and the various lettering
that is all tied to the character; I tried to do all the details in 15mm, and I am happy with how it worked out!

Here's a scale shot with some of Khurasan's 15mm miniatures. As you can see, this is one big machine!
The L-HAC is mounted on a 60mm base. Note that the Corporate Marine in the picture was provided painted by
Khurasan miniatures, so it's not mine... However, it shows the true spirit of the figure line I think! Very much
analogous to Starship Troopers! I imagine him yelling 'we've got bugs!'.

On the topic of Starship Troopers... I took this scale shot of the L-HAC along with two figures from
the defunct Startship Troopers range of figures produced by Mongoose Games. The figures are heroic 30mm, and
so they stand slightly taller than the Warhammer 40k average figure. I think this pic shows a pretty good
representation of the possibilities that exist with this L-HAC walker! I look forward to getting it into
combar soon!

The monster that challenged the earth  -  Posted: October 5, 2009  -  Manufacturer: Khurasan Miniatures
This little beastie is based on the Monster that Challenged the World movie monster... Definitely a
cool figure for those 1960's era monster games in 15mm! Actually though, the monster in that movie
started as a baby as well, so the fig is perfectly valid for 28mm or any scale really.

The Monster that Challenged the World squirms its way toward the Anglo-Danish shield wall. Oh, brave
weapon men of Sussex, watch out for the radioactive slime!

Warrior bugs  -  Posted: October 5, 2009  -  Manufacturer: Khurasan Miniatures
This is one nice figure with a lot of slatheringly good character. Clearly based on
the Cloverfield parasites with a Starship Troopers feel, they make excellent sci-fi warrior bugs!
They also work pretty well for fantasy monster as well, for any scale really.

The second warrior bug pose from this line. This colour scheme was one of those that looked like
it wasn't going to work even after the main beige colour was done and highlighted. I thought
I was going to have to come up with something new and repaint these until the eyes and teeth
went on. At that point they gave a real buggy feel, and so I was happy with them. So, as a rule of
thumb, finish it first before you repaint ;)

The warrior bugs charge the English shield wall... The brave men of Crowhurst
stand their ground... but to what end?

The warrior bugs charge a 15mm Viking from Old Glory Miniatures. Brave though he is,
the raven banner may fall to the maws of the alien invaders!
