In the past I made these little guys have stubby, wide-ish, and short limbs. But this time
I decided to do something thinner, more twig-like, and ganglier. A little less cute I guess.
I'm happy with how it turned out, but it's not my best work after a few years hiatus from sculpting.

This one is a bit stubbier, but also the head is looking nicely evil I think. The pose on this
one looks fun to me as well. I also added some vine-like piece to the arm on this one and the
others to make them have a little extra something... we'll see how it looks with paint.

A full sprint, and a leaf on the head... Going for a little more energy

This one was meant to be cute, running in for a hug... >:)

Another of the pumpkin-headed constructs. I put a coat of black paint on it before I took the picture, but
I promise, it's pure green underneath! These are super easy to sculpt, but fun. I have some more plans for future ones as well!

This little construct was sculpted from a 15mm armature, but it was a lot easier to do than a 15mm human
figure! it's all in the fact that nobody sees little wood-based, pumpkin-headed constructs running around every day,
so there's a lot of leeway in how exactly to execute them!

Long pumpkin sculpted but not yet  -  Posted: December 6th, 2010
I know pumpkins come in various shapes and sizes, so here's a long one that's a bit warped with a curled
stem. It looks good painted up on a base!

Pile Jack-o-lanterns sculpted but not yet  -  Posted: December 6th, 2010
This is a subset of the jack-o-lanterns that I have recently sculpted... I need as many as I
can get for my Halloween-themed undead army project. They
are fast and fun, and a great way to use up the eight-year-old green stuff that I still have droves of; it's
a bit firm but it still works! Note there is some ProCreate putty there as well, but those were done some time
ago with left-over putty :)

Converted Numidian cavalry not yet  -  Posted: December 9th, 2009
This is the first of two Numidian(ish) cavalry that I am doing for my
28mm Marian Roman DBA Army.
I used the Numidian light infantry and the horse spru from Wargames Factory's plastics
ranges as the base, and then snipped the infantry, positioned their legs and butts
and glued them on to horses. Once glued, I sculpted the lower half of the tunic
and blammo, they were done. Easy conversion, but they didn't turn out as nice as my
Mark Anthony conversion that I did for this army... Oh well! It's worth noting that ProCreate
putty is basically the same colour as the gray plastic of the figures, so it's hard to differentiate!
The only putty work is on the lower part of the tunic!

Another Numidian light horse figure. One thing I should point out with these is that their
horses have bridles. Apparently the Numidians didn't use any tacking on their horses... And most
miniature companies sculpt them as such. However, I think they must have had something, otherwise
how would one stay on a horse in battle? Either that or these guys, being mercenaries, adopted the
Roman bridle for ease of use ;) Either way, they will do the job!

15mm Ancient Irish female warrior sculpted but not yet  -  Posted: November 10, 2009
This is one of the hero characters from the celtic warrior women line of figs that I sculpted late
last year. This particular figure is dressed in the ancient Irish warrior style of around the first century BCE/CE.
Some pedantic individuals might say that this is male dress, but I think that warrior women probably
dressed as warriors, prior to the Catholocisation of the island.

15mm heads and skull sculpted but not yet  -  Posted: November 10, 2009
These little bits were done about a year ago... Time flies! They were part of my secret sculpting project!
These have already been cast once, as masters, and are waiting to have their production moulds made! They
should be released soon along with a whole line of the celtic warrior women that I did!
Marc Anthony conversion not yet  -  Posted: October 20, 2009
This is converted from Wargames Factory Ceasar's Legions Republican Romans, and the horse is their horse sprew.
There's a number of graystuff bits on there... Part of the helmet, the cloak, the skirt... The sword is from the
Wargames Factory German equipment sprew... It's for the general's element for my 28mm DBA Roman army project :)

Jack-o-lantern sculpted but not yet  -  Posted: Jan 22, 2009
One of a hand full of jack-o-lantern sculpts I have been doing lately. These are a lot of fun
and something that I have always wanted to do! They will be used primarily for my
Undead HotT army project, but I am sure I will
find uses for them elsewhere as well! Size wise, these are small... Slightly bigger than your average 28mm head.

Another jack-o-lantern as part of my Undead HotT army project.
This one will be on top of a banner!

28mm US m60 machine gunner in Viet Nam converted but not yet  -  Posted: Sep 30, 2008
Not willing to buy 15 machine gunners from West Wind when I only needed one,
I decided to snip the M16 off of one of my figs and slap some putty on there
to make an M60, or 'pig' as they were lovingly called... A little sloppy, and not
quite done (there is a little more work to do to finish it off yet) but
it will work!

There was some question as to whether this fig looked female enough originally. But, I
bulked out the hips and put on some braids and I like it. The hips don't looks as good
as they could have though, the belt sorta made them less defined. Still, I am happy with this fig;
For a 15mm it is commercial grade!

The first female blank I've really done. I figured I would actually shape out the female
before attempting to put on the clothes. This way I introduce a step that allows me to
have a single step that allows me to focus only on the shape of the female... On this fig
the crotch is too low, a problem with the armature. I decided to use it anyway, because she
will be wearing either a skirt or a tunic over it anyway. As a result of all of this though
I've realized that men are easier to sculpt... Their board-like bodies are easy to shape!

I learned how not to make an armature in 15mm... And this was the result of the first
layer of putty! Way to bulky in the torso for almost any reasonable fig... But it could be a monk.
Probably a male monk or something... In light of this though, I think I will do a 'sculpting 15mm
miniatures' type of tutorial...

This is a WIP of my first female Gael Irish warrior woman! It is really a female test fig.
I am not too unhappy with it, except the hands and the general chape of the body. I am changing
my armature method to fix the body shape, as well as realizing I will need more hips in there.
Once she gets hair, a left foot and a left hand though she should be not too bad!

This is a WIP image of the second and final monk I am doing for my Viking camp project.
This is the second iteration of the face, and the third of the hands. I figured what I am
doing wrong with the hands: I am trying to sculpt them all at once. I've realized I will have
to build a mini hand armature with greenstuff and let that cure before putting on details!
I will likely cut the lame detail off of these hands and do something better before it is done.
I'm happy-ish with the face, at least it is nice and smooth unlike the other monk! The body I
am very happy with.

This is my second 15mm figure. The first was a
dead viking. But this is the first 15mm I have sculpted that is standing! I tried to get some
expression on the face. I still need a bit of work, but I am proud of this one!

This is the monk with a 15mm Old Glory Early Medieval Russian Spearman. Mine is a bit bigger,
but it fits closer with Old Glory's viking range, so it should work fine :)

This is the monk with my corsair captain sculpt in 28mm. Yes, it's true,
I did cut it up for parts (the hand is on the raider with grappling hook)
and I planned to reposition the arm... Anyway, this is just for scale :)

Another conversion for my dwarf army. This is supposed to play double duty as
either Dain or Durin... I am pretty happy with it! My first attempt at chainmail!

More dwarf conversion projects. These ones are a little more involved in sculpting
the miniatures themselves. New armys and whatnot. I am liking this stuff, and the
sculpting is coming very easily...!

I decided not to spend any more money on dwarf figs, so I converted this
captain. I had converted a banner bearer ages ago and have no need for a
second one (who uses banners anyway?). Anyway, I used one of my previously
painted dwarves, that is why this one looks half painted. I will post pictures
when it is painted.

Well, I am pretty proud of this fig. My third full sculpt
and it is not looking bad at all! Peter Jackson? Maybe, but
I will just call it a Corsair Captain and let you be the judge ;)
This currently rates
on Cool Mini Or Not.

At this point after fixing the raised shoulder a bit and adding some facial hair, I wasn't too
unhappy at all... It may still work out yet...

At this point I was almost ready to scrap the entire project... The head seemed wrong, and the
raised arm wasn't quite right.... But I strove forward anyway, mostly because I wasn't sure what else
to do...

The Corsair Captain is coming along. After a few more hours adding details it is starting
to look more like a Lord of the Rings character. I am pretty happy with it, and the only
snag so far was the belt... It took three tries to get it right. But still, although I
have never said this before, I have to say that this picture does not do the
fig justice. It kinda looks cartooney because it is so magnified...

Well, back to sculpting! With this one I learned how to smooth the greenstuff
so well that I didn't even have to use any oil to polish it to a shine! Anyway,
I also didn't putty out the arms right away like I did with my other figs... What
is it supposed to be anyway? A LotR Corsair Captain of course ;)

Formerly headless, here is my latest ICA sculpt. I am not too unhappy with it
and overall I think it is my best work.

This is my second full human sculpt, although it was done alongside
another, it was the first to get a head and neck. The body is a bit wide
and the neck is a bit short, but I am pretty happy with this one. Here you
see it infront of a 1/43 scale 1911 Daimler A12. The scale issue isn't too
noticable as people now-a-days don't see too many of these old cars, and
so have no frame of reference :) I plan to use the car for gaming as well :)
This fig makes up one of the Irish Citizen Army figs that I decided to
do to play some Easter Rising action against the British in Dublin! I plan
to do some more, but the first three are nearly done!

This figure was pretty much my first full human sculpt.
I say pretty much because it once had an overly large head
that I replaced. The head on there now is probably my
sixth head... :) Here it is with a 1/43 scale 1911 Daimler.

So this was my first full human sculpt... Although I was pretty happy
with it I decided to chop the head an replace it with a better, more
properly scaled head. I left this image here for posterity :)

This also isn't a green per se, but after I finished this I
was ready to try my hand at a full sculpt.

Not exactly a green, but the second (and only acceptable) hand I sculpted. This gave me the idea that I might be able to pull off a full sculpt...

My first green ever, sculpted but not yet  -  Posted: July 27th, 2005
My first full sculpt, this scarecrow was inspired by one in a picture in the Warhammer Ancient Battles Shieldwall book. My plan was to make it into a battlefield objective, as soon as I cast it first :)
