Honestly, armour is boring to paint. The cloak was nice though!

Probably my favourite figure in the entire game, this one was fun to paint. I went with bronze scale male instead of padded armour, which worked out okay.

I had to add some colour to this one, but decided to go with a blue heart instead of the more expected red heart!

The sculpt on the face on this one always bothered me, but it turned out okay after some paint!

One of my favourite colour schemes, but not figs in the game. Painting this one didn't compel me to like it any more than I did. The head is small and the shield has too much detail. Still, it turned out well.

Originally this was one of my least favourite sculpts. But, it painted up very nicely, I started to like it! The green and the yellow play well off of each other and I really like the leather. Simple but nice.

Nothing I like more than painting a dozen identical figures... But it wasn't too bad after the base coat went on... Drybrush city!

This is the figure I chose for Guinevere. It is a druidess from Fenryll miniatures and was an absolute pleasure to paint. Fenryll makes some very nice miniatures, and in resin no less! So, for those of you that stuck with the off-white colour for your Shadows figs, this one would almost fit perfectly without paint as well!

Overall a pretty simple miniature to paint with only three colours: Leather, shining steel, and purple. But to be honest, I really don't like it. I guess what should I expect from a board game? But the proportions are terrible, the details are soft in places and warped in others... But this character's special rule is great so I can't complain too much!

I took some time to do these Picts well. I always wanted to do a tattooed celtic type army and this was my test group! I am not perfectly happy with the tattoos, but I like the figs a lot!

The game comes with four Saxons, four Picts, 12 catapaults, a grail, an excalibur, Lancelot's armour, and seven knights. These are the four Saxons, they are all identical sculpts. I am not too unused to that with the Lord of the Rings plastics, so I painted them all differently but with the same palette. The sculpts were not up to even the lowest miniature wargame standards, and the vinyl used to cast them caused my primer to become ultra-high gloss... So these didn't start to look good pretty much until they were done. But when they were done, I was quite pleased with the outcome. I am looking forward ot the Picts!
