The first element of proper republican Roman legionaries. Overall I am very happy with these figures. They are very easy to put together, super easy to make each one distinct from the others, and very simple to convert. On this element I did only a single conversion (the guy hit with the pilum, yes, a Roman hit with a Roman pilum! My favourite enemy of Rome was Rome itself!) and it was trivial, but produced quite a realistic effect I think. The shield design was stolen from a decal company's design, and it's spiffy, makes the unit look quite striking. Overall, this 'civil war' army should be fun to do! So for this one, the first lesson every Roman legionary should learn is: keep your shield up!
