When creating multi-based units I start with the base and some blue tack. That's the stuff you can stick posters to the wall with. I then compose the unit, fiddle, and once I'm happy I glue it all down and base it up. These spears are so fiddly and fragile, it's going to need to be multi-based, so here's the first draft.
