Game Background:
This game is based on the Lord of the Rings movies by Peter Jackson and Newline Cinema that were released in the early 2000s as well as The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings books. A land of fantasy where elves, dwarves, men, and hobbits battle the evil forces of the Dark Lord. An amazing background story which really mimics a real history exists for this games thanks to Tolkien's amazing writing. This allows gamers to get into the game without having to swallow half-baked fluff! Games Workshop really out did themselves with this ruleset. It is simple to understand and implement, while maintaining tactical complexity. The simplicity also allows this skirmish game to be used to play large battles, while still allowing the better tactician the advantage. This ruleset is probably one of the best I've seen of all the games available, and so I am sure it will continue to be a success even if support for it is dropped. |
